In Year 10, Burpengary State Secondary College works with students and parents/carers to develop a Senior Education and Training (SET) plan. The SET plan helps students structure their senior learning around their abilities, interests and ambitions. Throughout the year, students are provided with opportunities to explore their options through a Career Education program.
SET Plan interviews involve a representative of the school, Year 10 Parents/Carer and the student. During these interviews students will further develop their SET Plan and solidify their senior subject choices.
SET Plans are reviewed at various stages throughout Years 11 and 12 to make sure subjects and learning are right for individual students, and to ensure pathways are maintained to the courses and careers students want after Year 12.
Booking SET Plan interviews
Year 10 SET Plan interviews were postponed as a result of the lockdown that occurred in week 4. In order to ensure we can complete this important process, we would like to invite parents and carers to book in a phone interview scheduled to occur on
Monday 23rd August from 1:30pm - 5:00pm.
Please be advised that you may not necessarily get an appointment with the same teacher as before, but that all staff involved are trained to complete the SET plans.
In preparation for your SET Plan phone interview, you can discuss the SET Plan with your student. Completed SET Plans can be viewed by:
- Logging onto
- Selecting Available Reports
- Selecting SET Plan
During the interview, you will discuss the SET Plan with a member of staff and confirm that the subject selections meet the students interests, abilities and future career plans. Subject changes and applications can be made during the interview.
Booking are through the SOBS Online Booking system which will open on Monday 16th August at 6pm and will close on Friday 20th August at 9am.
