International Student Program (ISP) students attend Burpengary State Secondary College to complete a portion of their schooling life. Programs can run from 1 term to 1-3 years.
Hosting an ISP student is much different to study tour students; these students arrive on their own, attend our school in BSSC uniform & complete homework, assessment, tasks & exams.
Burpengary State Secondary College has a small, personalised international program of up to 20 international students. International students who choose to study at Burpengary become part of an Australian homestay family and have the opportunity to integrate with local students and local culture.
Hosting an ISP student includes:
Providing a private bedroom with suitable storage space for clothes, personal effects and study materials.
Provide the use of a desk, a chair, and adequate lighting.
Provide student with house key or alarm passwords.
Assist student to purchase Go-Card (if required)
Provide assistance to your student to access transport to and from school and for school related activities.
- Assist your student to attend any routine medical, dental, hospital or other health-related appointments as necessary (students arrive with their own Private Health Cover).
Assist your Student to attend school, on time, every school day.
Encourage your student to complete assigned homework and to study.
Assist your student to participate in extra-curricular activities arranged or recommended by the school.
If you believe you and your Family would be suited to the ISP program please contact our Homestay coordinator, Tania Livingston at international@burpengaryssc.eq.edu.au
